Phra Nakhon Sri Ayutthaya is one of the must cities that is easily done as a day trip from Bangkok. As the 2nd capital city of Thailand, it is full of history and culture. For many, the highlights are the temple ruins in the historical park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. However, for us the delicious local food is equally as exciting!
In this tour we travel by comfort of an air-conditioned car pick or minivan, with pick up and drop off from your hotel.
The Plan:
We will start by picking you up from hotel. After meeting the guide, we will take air-conditioned car to Ayutthaya
The first stop will be a visit to a local market where we will pick up many snacks, and charge your energy before a full day tour. The markets we visit may change depending on the day of the week.
Next us a quick stop in the town of Bang Pa-In, and a visit to the unique church-like temple of Wat Niwet Thammaprawat. The temple is located on island in the middle of the Chao Phraya River. Here we will have a little bit adventure by taking a cable to across the river to get to the temple.
Back on the road and a short drive to Ayutthaya, where we will start with a visit to Wat Phanan Choeng, which is the home of the biggest seated Buddha image in Ayutthaya.
We will continue to visit 3 more Ayutthaya's most impressive temples, such as Wat Yai Chai Mongkol, Wat Mahathat and Wat Phra Si Sanphet. We will break up the temple stops with food breaks.
Along the way we will stop to taste the best food in the city, whether it be random snacks in the market, lunch by the river - with giant prawns from the river, some of the city’s legendary "boat noodles", and a surprise snack or 2. You will not go hungry! There are also vegetarian food options available throughout.
At the end of the tour, we will return you to your hotel in Bangkok or help you find your way to wherever you are going next.
