Exciting Changes At Expique

We have some exciting changes at Expique! In fact, perhaps it is the start of Expique 2.0!

Our old team is taking ownership and our Bangkok tuk tuk tours, food tours and other experience are coming back with a bang!

After an extremely tough 2 years tourism is slowly coming back. However, a lot changed over this time. We sadly had to say goodbye to all our full-time staff, many of our guides and tuk tuk drivers found new opportunities, and last August, we (Simon and P) moved back to the UK with our kids.

Bangkok, still holds an important place in our hearts (after all, it is the birthplace of 3 out of 4 of us in our family) but running a Bangkok tour company from London would lose our “local” focus and hold us back from new opportunities. Therefore, we have been looking for the best solution for Expique to continue in our absence.

We are therefore very excited to announce that we are handing the majority ownership and running of Expique over to Khun Hamad and Khun Rattana (Dha).

We were so proud of the team that we had built pre-COVID, and Hamad and Dha were our longest serving team members. Even before COVID hit we were looking at introducing a staff ownership program, so this is the perfect solution, and we are delighted that they are getting involved again. They know our products inside out and were themselves responsible for ensuring we delivered our tours and customer service to the highest levels.

Hamad will re-join full time as General Manager and while Dha will not re-join, she will be involved as a non-executive director. Simon will be stepping back but will continue to support as an advisor once everything has been handed over.

With this set up, alongside our awesome team of guides and drivers, we are confident we can bounce back to deliver amazing experience once again.

So now we are 100% focused on fully re-opening and re-building Expique!!!!

We are currently reviewing all our tours and refining our offering and process to ensure we offer an even more amazing experience than before. We are working with our guides and drivers to really focus on once again delivering the high level of customer experience we always aimed for.

In 2018 and 2020 our Bangkok Night Lights Tuk Tuk Tour was awarded as the best Experience in Thailand. Now we are aiming to be THE BEST EXPERIENCE IN THE WORLD!

We still only have 1 full time team member so we apologise in advance if we can’t be quite as responsive as before, but as business comes back, we hope that will change.

Finally, we are pleased that over the last few weeks we have seen clear signs that tourism is coming back, but it still is only a fraction of Pre-Covid levels. There is still a long way to go, but we are all really looking forward to the future and are delighted to be hosting both returning guests and new guests regularly again.
