Tuk Tuk Tours
Explore Bangkok by the iconic tuk tuk
Eat your way around Bangkok on this evening food tuk tuk tour
The concept of the tour:
This food adventure gives you a local’s perspective on night time eating in Bangkok. As you travel by tuk tuk you will explore the food scenes in both the historical center of the city and more local areas.
This is predominantly a street food eating experiences but depending on the day we may add a favorite local restaurants to give you a diverse look at the Bangkok food scene. The majority of the places you will stop to eat have come through recommendations from locals, friends, parents, staff and guides. We don’t promise to take you to the most famous places or the ones you will find on TripAdvisor. What we do promise to do is share an experience with you.
Our expert guide will share insights into the various foods as you eat and help you dig deeper into Thai culture as you explore the city.
The Plan:
After meeting the group at a Krung Thonburi BTS station we will whizz you off to a local street food paradise, where you will sample a selection of light snacks including pork satays (Moo Satay) from one of Bangkok’s most famous vendors.
What will follow is a diverse range of unique food stops and a little bit of mystery. We will change some of the stops on a regular basis to add an element of mystery but you will sample a combination local favorites, regional specialties and sweet surprises. This is not a drinking tour but beer will be available at at least one stop - UNLESS COVID restrictions prevent alcohol.
You will be also have the occasional cultural break or tuk tuk ride to give you time to digest between food stops. We will drive around the historic Rattanakosin Island with a stop next to the river, besides the beautiful Phra Sumen Fort.
We finish the tour in Chinatown - possibly Bangkok’s most famous street for street food. Here we will sample a selection of Chinese Thai desserts which are popular among locals, including the famous sesame dumplings in ginger soup (Bua Loy Nam Ging).
On this tour we have planned visits to food vendors, some of whom only sell the specific food that we have chosen for you to try. This means that some vendors have limited flexibility for alternative food choices, so please consult with us if you have dietary requirements.

What does semi-adventurous mean? Everyone has a different sense of adventure. This tour is intended for people who are interested in exploring food beyond the most famous dishes. However, it is not adventurous to the level where you will discover lots of weird foods. For less adventurous eaters we recommend our original and award winning "Bangkok Night Lights Tuk Tuk Tour" instead.
Food Safety: We take food safety very seriously and all the places that we eat at we believe are of an acceptable standard and cleanliness to take guests to, but it is impossible to 100% rule out any risk of food poisoning. Our food safety record is very good and we have found it more likely a customer will get sick from food prior to our tour than during it.
Dietary Requirements: This is a food tour and not suitable for vegetarians or people with specific dietary requirements. While we do our best to accommodate, many of the stops are based around single dishes (e.g. pork satay / chicken noodles) where there is not always a suitable substitute. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the same experience for people with dietary requirements. Note that a lot of Thai dishes have fish sauce / oyster sauce / shrimp paste in them and this can not always be avoided. For people with dietary requirements we recommend our Bangkok Night Lights tour.
Min Age: There is a minimum age of 10 years old for this tour, as we find younger children are less likely to enjoy the food aspect. For families with small children we encourage a private version of our Bangkok Night Lights tour or our Family Canal and Tuk Tuk Adventure.
Private Tours and Large Groups: If you have specific requirements or are a group of 6 or more people we suggest you contact us about a private tour. For private tours we can vary the start time between 4pm and 7pm and also include pickup. For private tours we can take up to 50 people. However, the larger the group the more restricted to food options as many street food vendors can only cater for small numbers at a time.
Getting to the meeting point: Please allow plenty of time and aim to arrive 15 minutes early. The traffic can be bad, especially in the evening, and we suggest you take public transport and avoid taxi where possible. If you have any issues please call us.
Changes to Itinerary: The food stops we eat at may vary from day to day depending on what's open.
If it rains we have more fun: We run the tour throughout the year and have never had to cancel a tour due to rain. If it rain we have ponchos, rain covers and umbrellas. You may get a little wet but if you bring a positive attitude you may discover it is even more memorable.
